How to Use This Tool

  1. Enter names in the box. Use one name per line.
  2. Type a group size from 2 to 10.
  3. Choose 2 for pairs. Choose 3 for trios.
  4. Click Generate Groups.
  5. Review the groups and the totals line.
  6. Click Generate Groups again for a fresh mix.
  7. Click Copy Results to copy the list.

Inputs and Buttons Explained

Names box

Type or paste names, one per line.

The tool trims spaces and removes blank lines.

Enter at least two names to form a group.

Group size

Enter a number from 2 to 10.

Use 2 for pairs and 3 for trios.

The size must be less than or equal to the number of names.

Generate Groups button

Click to shuffle names and build groups.

Each click reshuffles the list and makes a new set.

Copy Results button

This button shows after you create groups.

Click to copy a clean text summary for chat or email.

What the Output Shows

The header reads Generated Groups.

Each line lists a label and the members.

Size 2 uses the label Pair with a number.

Sizes 3 to 10 use the label Group with a number.

Names appear joined with plus signs.

For pairs you may see lines like this.

Pair 1: Alex + Jamie

For trios you may see lines like this.

Group 1: Jordan + Casey + Riley

A note may appear when the last group has fewer members.

A totals line lists people count and group count.
